Milan Fashion Week

Th
Was in Milan for fashion week..

Actually I had no idea it was Fashion week, it was just an added bonus!
Took my girls, Ella and Lily for
a one night whistle stop,
pack it in trip to Italy/H&M
and Zara and a tiny
bit of site seeing.

Ella and Lily outside Galleria

"Grazia" magazine
had a photographer
taking pictures of people
with the magazine for a
promotion.
The girls took full
advantage!

Here's Lily doing
her stuff..

..and Ella exuding.

Here's what they
did to the photograph.
They got to keep
them as souvenirs
for free!

Even better.

There was this
amazing sculpture
(artist and filmmaker)
in the Duomo square
which was spectacular

if not a bit...

weird.

Here's my bit of art.

"Breakfast Ketchup"

"Fridge Magnets"

Sometimes, it's

exhausting being creative..

SOMETHING KIND OF OOOoooo...

If you missed it
(like I'm assuming you were looking for it
in the first place..)

The dulcet tones of Kimberley Walsh
will be reading
THE THREE BILLY GOATS FLUFF
(written by Rachael Mortimer and
illustrated by yours truly) on
Cbeebies 23rd Feb...  again.

She's always been my favorite from Girls Aloud
(...now.)
Mind you, I think the "Trip Traps"
could have been a bit faster?

Doesn't the troll look WEIRD on her website?

RASTAMOUSE!

RASTAMOUSE hit the ground running last week and has been making headlines ever since. One of it's creators is the fabulous
Genevieve Webster who I've had the pleasure of working (and drinking!) with as she designed several of my books in the past.
(My Big Brother Boris- Tale Of Two Kitties- Penguins)
She and her collaborator Michael published the Rastamouse books themselves. I took my girls to one of their book launches in 2005.

Here they both are signing books.

They've worked so hard to get "The Easy Crew" to this stage. Two years ago she told me it had been commissioned to be made into a
series. It's absolutely brilliant
and I really hope all the negative press dies down. The whole project was put together with care, attention to detail and JOY!

I think it's FANTASTIC.
RASTAMOUSE is going to be
MASSIVE!

Bishops Stortford Book Award

Great news for my first blog!

"DAVE" written by the talented Sue Hendra and illustrated by me, WON the Bishops Stortford Picture Book Award last week.
It's voted for by children which makes it even more special I think. Here's my winning DAVE face...

Last years winner was Giles Andreae and Sarah McIntyre.
Their fabulous book Morris The Mankiest Monster featured
a lot of snot and much other disgusting stuff.

And in case you don't know..DAVE the cat manages to fart his way out of trouble (in a funny and educational way of course.)

Who'd have thought kids would like that kind of thing so much?
Thanks again to everyone who voted and to Bishops Stortford college for organizing the event. It was great to meet everyone!

Sue's gorgeous daughter Wanda had the right idea of what to do with the winning cup...
